No Marketing, Online Money: Working Solutions

Happy Monday readers! Welcome to another addition of NMOM! Today I am going to be highlighting the company Working Solutions and giving you a little more information on what the company is about, how to apply, and what to expect. I know many of you are still looking for that perfect opportunity where you are able to get that work/life balance that you are hoping for and this is just one of the many legitimate opportunities out there that really allows you to control your schedule and ultimately how much you earn.

What are Working Solutions Agents on Demand?
Since 1996, Working Solutions has been hiring call center and data entry professionals that are home-based to work with their clients who have talent in customer support, sales, and technical support. The different clients or "projects" that you can be assigned to depend on the time of year and your preferred skill set. Working Solutions will provide training whenever you switch projects or do something that is new to you. They have a range of projects to choose from. I have seen jobs from Quality Manager, to Vacation Consultant, to Ticket Sales agent. Sometimes you just need to keep an eye on their job postings so you can apply for a job that is right for you. What makes it even better? There are no up-front costs or fees to work with this company!

What are the requirements?
Truthfully, there are not very many requirements in becoming an agent with Working Solutions. According to their website, this is all that is required.
"Although we don’t charge any fees or require you to purchase any special equipment, most of our projects require: an up-to-date computer, a high speed internet connection, a land line telephone, a willingness to work hard, a desire to be successful."
Most of the agents that are placed on projects are independent contractors, so you do not work for Working Solutions directly. Taxes are not taken out of the pay that is received, so as always consult the IRS or your tax representative for more information on becoming your own business and working independently.

How do I apply?
To apply, you will want to visit their website and select Complete or Update Agent Application. Applications can only be submitted online, and you will only need to apply once to be eligible for multiple projects that may be offered currently or in the future.

Once the application is complete, you will be asked to take a telephonic assessment and a brief technology scan to make sure that your system meets the requirements of the program.

Since new projects can begin at any time, an email will be sent to you if you match the specific requirements of any particular program. All they ask if that you keep your application current with up-to-date contact information so there is no delay in notifying you of potential positions.

How much can I earn?
The earning potential for this company is up to the project that you work on. Most of the projects that are associated with Working Solutions will pay you per minute. According to most employment websites, most independent contractors are earning between $9-$14 per hour depending on the position they hold. Since you are able to dictate your own schedule, the number of minutes you work directly correlates to the amount that you earn.

Currently Working Solutions pays twice per month.

Independent Contractor - How to Start

Hello dear readers! For those of you that have been following my blog, you will see that I am always talking about being an independent contractor and self employed. Some of the questions that I have been getting quite frequently are the basic "How do I get started?!" questions. To be fair, I'm sure I probably should have started with that information before showing off many of the different programs and websites that offer self-employment work.

As always, I always recommend that you do your own research! If you are using the almighty Google, some search keywords are "freelancer opportunities", "independent contractor opportunities", and "self-employment start up". Once you can weed through the results that will most benefit you, you will want to consider if working from home or outside of the home is right for you. Some people will thrive in an "at-home" environment, but it does take incredible discipline and determination to find the business that is right for you.

There are a few essential questions that you want to ask yourself when you first decide to become your own boss?

#1: What kind of work/home balance am I looking for?
One of the biggest reasons that I hear time and time again for people to work from home is that it gives you a better work/life balance. Stay at home moms/dads love this option, especially when the kids are back to school and there are less distractions in the home. It also gives students a chance to work around a hectic college schedule and work part-time with less of a commute cost.

#2: Am I able to dedicate a distraction free environment in my home?
This point is very important, especially if you decide to take up telecommunting. Having a noise-free background will be all important when speaking with your customers. Even if you are not spending time on the phone, you will need to have a committed atmosphere to help be sure that you stay on task to meet all goals.

#3: What kind of opportunities fit my lifestyle?
Some people actually prefer a 9-5 schedule where others prefer to be able to pick and choose their own hours. Not everyone has the same preference because we all have different life styles. There are plenty of  different companies that will allow you to come on as an independent contractor to set your own hours or as an employee where they will assign hours to you depending on business need. Whichever you choose, you want to be able to make sure that you can commit to a schedule that will allow you to keep that cherished home/life balance.

#4: Will I be able to be resourceful enough to learn processes and troubleshoot equipment on my own?
One of the toughest things you can learn is how to be resourceful with your information and troubleshoot your office equipment. All technology has the potential to fail at one time or another, so be sure that you know how to back up files on your computer, have the phone number to your internet service provider handy, and ask for help from experts when you need it. Some failures cannot be avoided so there should be steps to a solution in place so that your productivity does not take a large hit.

These are just a few of the basic questions that you want to ask yourself before quitting at your brick and mortar position. Working from home is a great option, and one people are turning to more and more! Still, there are some people that would prefer to have the office setting where they can be productive outside of their haven of a home. Consider carefully, and always do your own research!

Until next time!

No Marketing, Online Money - Humanatic Review

Happy Fourth of July everyone! Welcome to another edition on NMOM! Today I am going to review the website Humanatic! In my opinion, this site does not pay enough to want to commit to it full time, but it is a good way to pass the time and make some extra income in the process.

Humanatic is a website that recruits independent contractors to listen, review, and sort inbound and outbound phone calls. These calls assist clients to sort calls that need to be examined from a quality assurance perspective. From my experience, many of these calls can be listened to and sorted in less than 3 minutes -- of course longer calls may take longer to sort in the correct category.

The amount paid depends on which call category you choose. When you first join, you will only have two choices that will pay between $0.007-$0.015 per call that is sorted. The requirements for what the site is looking for in each call is laid out plainly prior to when you start listening to calls, so there is little confusion once you start. There are also members that audit the calls that are sorted by the independent contractors. You ARE penalized when you do not sort calls correctly, so try to be as accurate as possible. On the last call that I rated that was incorrect they deducted $0.02 from what I had accrued.

Anyone is able to work for Humanatic as long as you have a verified paypal account. At this time, that is the only way that contractors get paid. You are able to cash out your account once you reach $10 in your account. As you sort more calls, more categories will open up that have higher pay. The highest category that I see as of today pays $0.15 per completed task.

All in all, Humanatic is a completely legitimate way to make some money online, but it definitely is not a way to earn a living. On average I earn $10 per week from this site by dedicating an hour or two each day.

If you would like to join visit the Humanatic website. At this time, there is no affiliate or referral program.

Freelance Your Skills - upWork

Hello my darlings, and thank you for reading! Once again I have been doing some research on how to get great exposure for those of us that do not like to work inside the traditional workforce -- ie, wanting to work for ourselves rather than someone else. I have had the pleasure to speak with a few freelance and independent contractors and it seems like there has been a resounding trend to where they recommend people that are just beginning to start. That answer was UpWork -- formerly known as oDesk.

UpWork apparently isn't new to the freelance market, but it has seemingly been getting a substantial amount of growth in these past couple of years. Upon initial inspection, it seems like the site has quite a lot to offer for a huge range of freelancers and business owners alike. The platform gives you the option of whether you are looking for work or looking to hire your own team of freelancers.

Of course, I was also taken in by the bright colors and the sheer beauty of the user interface, so I went ahead and joined. They ask you standard questions to sign up for the platform: Your personal information like a phone number, email, cover letter, and resume. All of this information is held confidentially unless you choose to display it on your profile.

After a few days of use, what I can say I really like about this platform is that they really do focus on the quality of both those looking to hire and those looking for work. There a few quizzes that you can take that will exhibit your proficiency in certain areas, just in case you do not have the experience on your resume to back up your knowledge. As far as being an employer, when you hire on the website, you can earn certain "levels" when your companies pays out your freelancers.

The most important thing on the site that I enjoy is the rating system. Employers are able to give freelancers a rating out of five stars and vice versa. This allows you to see honest to goodness reviews about certain employers to help you skim out the spammers or employers that do not pay what is promised on the site.

To join and use the UpWork platform is completely free with no up-front payment. What is interesting is that UpWork does charge 10% of earnings on the platform, but that is charged to the client that is looking to hire. For example, if you would like to be paid $15 per hour for your work, then the employer will be charged $16.50 per hour. The $1.50 difference would then go to UpWork for continued maintenance and operation.

If you would like to try UpWork, click this link. I am sorry to report that there is no affiliate or referral program since they have undergone their name change, but I will update this information if anything new becomes available.

Once again, thank you all for reading and I will catch you all on the flip side. :)

Joining Forces -- Hire A Veteran Today!

Good afternoon my lovelies! Happy Veterans day! Today's post is a tribute to the veterans that have served and are still serving our country today to keep my freedom free. For all of your sacrifices that you have made, I would like to say thank you from the very bottom of my heart! I can't imagine being separated from my family and seeing the things that you all have seen.

To all of my business owners, I would like to tell you a little bit about a white house initiative that started a few years ago that is working to ensure that all veterans, service members, and their families have the tools to be successful in life. This program is called the Joining Forces Initiative. In 2011, Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden came together to launch Joining Forces to rally around service members, veterans, and their families to focus on employment, education, and wellness opportunities. This program is dedicated to raising awareness for how these three major areas affect the nation's communities every day and are particularly focused on those that have served and are serving.

With the employment aspect, Joining Forces is looking to expand career development opportunities and employment for veterans and military spouses. It also looks to show off the skills, experience, and dedication of service members and create greater connections between the American public and the military.

In the education aspect, the initiative is focused on promoting expanded education opportunities that increase job training opportunities and ease the transferability for military-connected students.

Lastly, the wellness aspect calls  attention to the critical issues facing veterans and military families. It also is looking to expand access to wellness programs and expand resources for military spouses and families.

There are plenty of ways to get involved in this initiative, and the first step is to explore the website and see how you can benefit a service member or veteran by going to http://www.whitehouse.gov/joiningforces. You can also support joining forces by adding a Joining Forces Button/Banner onto your website to bring more attention to this fantastic initiative to thank them for their service.

Thank you all for reading, and again thank you to those who put your lives on the line for mine. :) Have a great day!

MCA Compensation is AWESOME!

Good evening fellow bloggers! I hope you all have been having a wonderful weekend! Today I am going to talk to you about all of the different benefits of Motor Club of America and it's compensation plan.

For those of you who do not know, Motor Club of America (MCA) is a motor club that provides motorists different benefits such as emergency roadside assistance, travel assistance reimbursement, accidental death coverage, hospital benefits, stolen vehicle reward, and much much more! A trusted name since 1927, MCA benefits are available for motorists that reside in the US and Canada.

MCA is a very unique networking opportunity because it offers a very fathomable product that hundreds of thousands of people need and use daily. Have you ever gotten a flat tire and made dozens of calls to friends or family trying to get some help? With MCA, you can simply make one phone call and get all of the assistance you need. Unlike other motor clubs, MCA does not limit the number of times that you are able to use the service.

With a small investment of 19.95 per month, you are able to have the peace of mind while you are travelling! For those that would like to start their own business, MCA has one of the best compensation plans that I have seen as a network marketer anywhere out there. For each direct sale or recruit that is made you make $80. Imagine making 5 sales per week (that's only 1 per day!). That is equal to $400 per week that you are able to make on top of your regular income. Not only that, but anyone that you recruit will also earn you $6 commission per sale (which is called an override). Below is a charted example of the earning potential per month based on number of sales.

Sales/wkCommission/wkCommission/moRecruit Sales/wkOverrides/wkOverrides/mo
1$80$2401$6$24
5$400$16005$30$120
10$800$320010$60$240

The more you sell, the higher your commission! After 10 sales, the commission structure changes slightly where you receive more compensation per sale, and the math gets a little more complicated, but I would be happy to explain that to you at a later time.

If you would like more information about MCA, please leave a comment or send me an email. You can also contact me via any of the social media methods attached to this post. :)

As always, I suggest that you do your own research when making a decision to start your own business. If you are interested in joining, shoot me an email and follow this link to sign up today!

1099 v W2 -- Husband and Wife Business

Great afternoon everyone! Happy Halloween those that celebrate! I hope you all are having a fabulous day. Today I bring you another post for 1099 v W2 and will be featuring Husband and Wife business also known as joint ventures of married couples. This is important because the IRS has different specifications for those couples that are partners or that are employed by one another.

The Small Business and Work Opportunity Act of 2007 changed the treatment of qualified joint ventures of married couples not treated as partnerships. Instead of being treated as a partnership for Federal tax purposes, the couple's business is now treated as a joint venture. Couples qualify under this act if the only members of the venture are husband and wife, both spouses materially participate in the business, and both spouses decide to file under the joint venture. The business also can not be in the name of a state law entity (such as a corporation, limited partnership, or limited liability company) except in some community property states. An EIN (employer identification number) is not required for the qualified joint venture. If a spouse already as an EIN, you cannot use that EIN for the joint venture.

In laymen's terms, this means that the business is split between husband and wife -- income, gain, loss, and credit and applied depending on the investment of each separate party. With the separate list items (usually listed on a Schedule C for self-employment), each spouse gets credit for social security earnings on which retirement benefits are based. The more you have made and contributed to social security, the more you are able to receive in return from the government when you reach the age of benefits.

Once the election is made, it can only be revoked with the permission of the IRS. So as always, I recommend to do your due diligence and research what might be best for your company before committing to doing something new on your tax return. A great resource is directly through IRS.gov. There is some clarification on this page Election for Husband and Wife Unincorporated Businesses.

I hope you find this information helpful!
